The Holy Prophet Sallallahu alayhi wa sallam has said: “The first branch of knowledge which will be taken away from my Ummah will be Ilmul Faraidh [knowledge pertaining to inheritance]“. This branch of knowledge is almost extinct. Most Muslims are blissfully unaware of the importance of the Islamic law of succession and the consequences of an un-Islamic Will. I wish to get a copy of the Bayan with accepted quotation & reference on the topic on “Islamic Law of Inheritance ” which may help me to get more details, Since I am contesting a civil case on Islamic Law of Inheritance against a Muslim who has changed her faith and claiming the Muslim Parents Properties. The subject Matter is at the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka. Further the beauty is that an emminent Muslim Lawyer is appearing against the Muslim Law and a Sinhalese Lawyer is fighting in favor of the Muslim Law. I wish to brief my lawyer further on the Muslim Law.

So in your case I strongly suggest you to try to contact Yusuf Mufthi and meet him in person. He will have the notes he prepared for the bayan and he may also be able to help you by referring you to other people he knows. He lives in Wellawatte and he has a office at No. 83, Shazuliya Plaza, (opposite Wellawatte Galle Road Jummah Mosque), Colombo 6.
